Chalcosoma atlas
|
Chalcosoma atlas known as "atlas beetles" are found in Sumatra, Borneo and Celebes. This beetles also can be found in small island like Banka island and Enggano island in Sumatra. They looks like caucasus beetle with three horn but the body is smaller than caucasus, and the color is shine and metallic. They live in low level area with altitude 0-1000m and temperature range from 22-29 degree celcius. The size of atlas beetles is range from 5 cm to 9 cm for Sumatra species and 5 cm to 100 cm for Borneo and Celebes species. "Be strong like atlas beetle" is a phrase used by mother to her child in Asia. |
